Hiking in Big Bear Lake at Cienaga Creek Ranch

Big Bear Cabins California

Whether you are seeking a luxurious romantic getaway or a wonderful family weekend, Cienaga Creek Ranch is an idyllic retreat for any season or reason. Savor the breathtaking views while hiking, biking, cross country-skiing or snowshoeing, and luxuriate in one of our charming, cozy cabins.

At Cienaga Creek Ranch  there are a variety of trails that you can access right from the door of your cottage.  No need to drive to a trail head.... or get an Adventure Pass.... just put on your boots, grab a trail map and walk out your door!  You can take a short, leisurely stroll or spend all day exploring - it's up to you.

The Pacific Crest Trail  crosses Cienaga Creek Ranch just inside our ranch entrance.  If you take the trail southeast, you will soon find yourself in quiet solitude among the pines, firs and junipers.  The trail is wide, but after a mile it veers off to a single-track.  If you take the trail northwest from our entrance, you will come upon our neighbor, Predators in Action, where you can catch a glimpse of the grizzly bears, lions, or tigers in the secure compound.  Continuing on toward Onyx Summit, you will find some great views of snow-capped San Gorgonio.

The Desert View is a short walk up to an expansive view point overlooking Pioneertown in the desert.  For a longer hike, the loop up Rainbow Lane, about 5 miles, brings you around to the Pacific Crest Trail and back to the ranch entrance.

No matter what hike you choose, you will be able experience the beauty of the mountains that we love.  There is no better place in the world!
