Rim of the World Scenic Drive in Big Bear California
Feel like taking a drive? Take a trip along the rim of the San Bernardino Mountains from Cajon Pass to San Gorgonio Pass. This 100-mile journey offers spectacular panoramas and vistas as well as a diverse range of temperatures and climates, with elevations varying from 1,000 to 8,000 feet. Along the way, you’ll encounter the San Andreas Rift Zone, San Gorgonio Wilderness Area, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake and the San Bernardino National Forest.
The Rim of the World is part of the National Scenic Byway System, so watch for signs along the way. And before you begin your trip, don’t forget to purchase a $5 Adventure Pass, which allows you unlimited access to National Forest lands.
